The Hunger Games Party

What better way to watch the Hunger Games than with a theme snacks and set! For a quickly put together party, I purchased artisan bread (for Mellark's Bakery), goat cheese (Prim's goat), and made a cake wrapped in leather barbwire (you know, each district is surrounded in barbwire).

The light wall represents the backdrop during the interviews.

President Snow's white roses are in basic vases I wrapped in yarn and embellished with beads and arrow charms.

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Lost Boys Baby Shower

The last two baby showers I have done the Moms-to-be wanted a "baby theme free" shower. The standard baby blue and light pink may be classic, but these ladies wanted a more unique celebration. My sister is a true book lover and appreciator of the classics. One of the most iconic children's books is non other than Peter Pan! I wanted to create the feel of the Lost Boys home. I used a lot of branches from by back yard (don't you love free) with added glitter moss, moss wrapped boxes and flower vases create the forest feel. Along with many accents that are found in the book that give the whimsical and childlike look and feel, without looking like a Disney party (don’t get me wrong I !Love! Disney, but not generally in party form).

Lost Boys hammocks were a great touch for the court yard.  It was too hot for entertaining outside, so being able to still use it with these seen through the windows of the dinning room and the living room on the other side was a great way to take advantage of the space.

I made the letters with sticks, some wire, and spray paint!

Puppy Party

What happens when you let 4 year old-turning 5 choose their birthday party theme? They choose something like puppies...really?!? Of all of the fabulous things to choose from??? But, when there is no swaying a heart set on puppies you have to just make it happen. I didn't have a lot of planning time so this is some of what I whipped up!

Just a little Fiesta!

The tissue flowers, while easy to make and create a spectacular ambiance, are a little time consuming for the over 300 I made for this party...but, I was so happy with the results, worth it! Plus, it gave me something to do while catching up on my DVRed shows.
